Some Club History

Street UnderGrounD was started
nearly two decades ago by Ed, an individual who is also a humanitarian, in the Pittsburgh
area with a love for auto mechanics and customizing cars. This individual wanted to mix the passion of
the vehicle with doing something to help others in the surrounding ares via charities and other methods, while creating
fun. After finding the help of several other individuals, also car enthusiasts and
humanitarians, the Street UnderGrounD club came together, but was still growing.
These individuals had a
passion for customizing,hot rodding,racing, restoring classic autos, off-roading, etc., and liked
to customize their vehicles in ways that were very unique and different
from the rest. Their vehicles and the vehicles of their club's members
included anything that existed on the road and on wheels, such as
cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, 3-wheeled motorcycles, farm
tractors, drag racers, RV's, tractors/trailers, and anything that was customizable, different, and unique. There were even some customized peddle bikes and go-carts.
The Street Underground club still welcomes these same types of vehicles as well as all other catagories of vehicles today.
The club soon had its own management system and network of
people such as mechanics, store owners, merchants, sponsors, and individuals of different trades all working together
to beat the systems of modern day society with store discounts, benefits and their skills. One could say our
club resembled a modern day underground railroad, but also did things to help other secretively, thus getting the
name "Street Underground". Since many people did not know much about the club until they became a member or couldn't remember
our name, we also came to be known as "STREET X". So we are known as "STREET UNDERGROUND" AND "STREET X", but our real
name is "Street UnderGrounD".
Several years ago, one
of the last of the remaining correspondences of the original Street UnderGrounD vehicle club and the original owner of the club, Ed, started rebuilding, reforming, and reorganizing the club into someting new, including the website you are now viewing. Ed and
the other enthusiasts always kept the club going in some way since the days of the
club's original glory of its college days smany years ago.
Today, the club is run
by new members as well as some old members and is still designed for vehicle enthusiasts of every kind
across the United States with hopes of locating and uniting these vehicle enthusiasts, while becoming
part of the original Street UnderGrounD club. We hope to do this by via memberships and by forming chapters in all states, cities, towns,and other regions.
Members are always
coming up with different ideas for the club and in search of members wanting to join, become club officers, coordinate fun activities and events, design, and start new
chapters in their home state and across the nation while making the club as much
fun as possible.
Naturally the club had its problems
and ups & downs while growing into a cool club. Members and chapters will eventually come and
go as new members and chapter become part of our club. With each problem we conquered we grew stronger.
We, The Original Street UnderGrounD
Club, are now once again growing and enjoying success through new members, new chapters,
new divisions, fun events, fun activities, store discounts, sponsors, and more.
Anyone wishing to join us, the
Street UnderGrounD club (also called STREET X) and any of its chapters may check this website and/or contact
us for authentication to be sure they are joining the real and original Street UnderGrounD
club. Once in awhile someone will use our name and claim to be us and we will have to take care of the situation which is
why safety precautions are a must. We are a club registered with the state to help prevent identity fraud.
If certain members and officers are
not listed on this site , including the main club and individual chapters, then chances are they are not part of our club, and
may be part of a corrupt club using our name fraudulently. Please report any corrupt individual(s) to us that you
suspect is using our club name without our permission by using our contact page in the navigation bar at the top of each page.
